Fun Summer Outfits
We have a few budget friendly summer outfits to get you started. Summer is around the corner so it’s a good time to start stocking up!
A summer basic are denim shorts, Kaylin is wearing frayed hem shorts. Denim shorts also come in the regular hem and sewn cuff hem with various lengths. We like the shorter length because we are short and feel like it elongates our legs.

A Chic for Cheap favorite to shop for shorts is Express because they come in different lengths and different style hems and different rises (high, super high, and mid-rise). Kaylin’s shorts are from express. Another favorite of ours is Abercrombie & Fitch for the same reasons as express, the variety, and the stretchiness of the fabric.
Buttercream is a top color for spring/fall and Kaylin’s top fits that bill. Her top is just long enough to hit the top of her shorts and the off the shoulder style is great for summer. The sheen creates a dressy look if you want to pair it with jean pants or black jeans for date night. Here are a few similar styles ribbed, ruffle trim, solid, and ruched.
Accessorize accessorize accessorize, the easiest way to elevate your outfit is to add some accessories. Kaylin has a matching chunky gold chain necklace and bracelet and she paired it with a dainty star necklace. We really like Gorjana jewelry for those who have sensitive skin. The gold jewelry is 18k gold plated and the silver jewelry is silver plated. The Parker line is a great chunky chain line. Mom has several necklaces in the Parker line, this is her latest buy.
To complete your outfit, try these open toe two woven band footbed slide sandals. The slight flat platform makes for comfort and a casual look. The 2 different color straps one leather-like and one woven screams summer sandals. Here’s a few similar looks here and here.
Summer is a good time to put some highlights in your hair for that beachy look. Kaylin had hers done in Missouri but find a place in your location that does highlights.
Summer Dresses
If shorts are not your thing…. a cute summer dress works great too. Kaylin has this cute Boho-style dress in navy and white mini-floral print (looks like white dots). Lightweight and short are perfect for summer!
